About the Wine
The Domaine Bernard Defaix Petit Chablis is a fresh and lively wine that truly shows its origins and highlights the fruit due to the use of stainless steel tanks at all stages of its development. With lovely aromas and flavours of citrus and stone fruit, the bright acidity makes it a refreshing and tasty wine, something to enjoy with friends over fish and chips.
Many lovers of Chablis like to stress that Petit Chablis should not be seen as "lesser" to those from more prestigious appellations. Petit Chablis is often lighter and less complex than other Chardonnays from the region, although it pairs well with lots of foods that a Grand Chablis may not (and it's also much, much cheaper).
About Domaine Bernard Defaix
Defaix is based in the small village of Milly, on the left bank of the Serein river that divides the Chablis. The Domaine is now run by Didier, son of Bernard, and his wife Helene, and comprises approx 25 hectares across Petit Chablis, Chablis, 1er and Grand Cru sites.
An early convert to organics, the wines are pure, clean but also have weight and texture that is oft lacking in basic Chablis.
