About This Wine
This Jura Chardonnay presents itself as the hybrid offspring of Chablis and Macon, a union of polar opposite Burgundian styles.
Rich with peach and pineapple, yet at the same time austere, with a distinct mineral edge, it a fresh, yet firm wine. Really, a juxtaposition within itself, combining contrasting elements to create something with the sum greater than the parts; gestalt.
We love Chardonnay in general, we love Chablis especially, but we really love this, as it combines so many elements of the broad variations of this grape in one unique offering.
About Champ Divin
Proprietors Valérie and Fabrice Closset-Gaziaux, are farmers at heart, specialising in soil and earth sciences. Their first stop after studying was working on farming projects in Africa.
Returning to France, they went to the Loire to share their knowledge of Organics with the regions grape-growers.
it was in 2008, when they took over the estate of Richard Delay, in the heart of Jura, that the story of Champ Divin (Divine Field) begins.
Their 5ha of vineyards are certified organic and biodynamic, and all vineyard, and winery work, is done by hand, to produce these unique regional expressions.
