About The Wine
Between Five Bells; the team of David Fesq, Dr. Ray Nadeson & co. have brought to life some truly unique wines. They are unconventional in their make-up and winemaking, considered more a thing of enjoyment for the team - a vinous playground to play - in rather than a rigid, winemaking partnership.
The sense of freedom, experimentation and abandon with which they make the wines shines through in the juice in the bottle. This peculiar creature is a blend of aromatic varieties (mostly Fiano and Pinot Gris) fermented in old 1600L foudre and left untopped or tampered with for about a year where it goes through natural primary and malolactic ferments.
A healthy amount of oxygen, a lick of skin contact for a little more grip. It's great drinking.
About Between Five Bells
More than just a wine label, Between Five Bells is an amalgamation of philosophy, art and skill.
Conceived (as so many genius ideas are) after one (or several) too many wines with his friend Josh, David Fesq approached Ray Nadeson, the impossibly talented owner/winemaker of Lethbridge wines, with the concept of creating a range that put "drinkability first, and varieties, marketing and expectations second."
And so, B5B was born. These wines throw out the rulebook. The blends are unconventional, the winemaking is experimental, the juice at the end is simply delicious.
