About The Wine
Steffen Christmann aims to make Rieslings in the mould of a ''prima ballerino, the male master dancer. He is powerful and yet vibrant, dancing.''
Their entry-level Gutswein Riesling is definitely made for the dance stage, with dense and dashing pear and citrus flavours and a full, seamless mouthfeel. A lovely dry and poised wine, best enjoyed over five years.
A Pfalzian beauty, sourced from biodynamically-farmed estate vineyards.
About A. Christmann
A. Christmann is run by the seventh in an unbroken line of family vignerons, Steffen Christmann. Their winery, in the town of Gimmeldingen, dates back to the mid-19th century, though there has been winemaking in the Christmann family for 300 years prior!
After completing a simultaneous law and viticultural degrees, Steffen took over the family business in 1996. He quickly converted the estate to biodynamic viticulture and has since presided over the estate's rise to become considered amongst the very best producers that the Pfalz region has to offer.
