About The Wine
There are still two distinct camps when it comes to Pinot Gris; the richer, doff a cap to the Germany and Alsace and the lighter, brighter 'Grigio by any other name' styles. And everything in between...
This cracker from across the tasman maintians the intensity that makes this grape so deservedly popular with a vibrant freshness that prevents it from being in any way cloying.
One of those gems you can take to dinner confident everyone will love it and you'll enjoy it too. Better take two bottles along..
About Te Whare Ra
Te Whare Ra - commonly referred to as TWR - is a small vineyard and winery located in the Marlborough sub-region of Renwick. The 11Ha vineyard was first planted in 1979 and since 2003 has been owned by winemakers Anna and Jason Flowerday. Low yields and a commitment to organic and biodynamic practices - TWR is genuine artisanal winemaking in a region more famous for large commercial production.
Their aromatic whites - Riesling, Sauvignon, Pinot Gris, Gewurz - have carved out their reputation, but Pinot Noir and Syrah might outshine them all in the long run.
To show off at the dinner table, remember that the 'WH' is pronounced as an 'F'!
