About the Wine
The Stefano Lubiana Pinot Noir is an estate-vineyard wine from Tasmania's Derwent Valley. Despite the extreme southerly latitude, the wine still presents abundant tannin, as well as the expected, bright acidity. Notes of red fruit and spice and a wonderful mouthfeel make this wine a joy to drink.
Steve and Monique describe their Estate Pinot Noir as one that needs a bit of time to reach its full potential, so it's worthwhile letting it rest for another year or so, or decanting it a few hours before drinking, to let it breathe, open up, and show you how good it can be.
About Stefano Lubiana
Steve and Monique Lubiana were pioneers of biodynamic farming in Tasmania.
Their gorgeous estate was the first to adopt the principals of biodynamics in 2008. Since then the quality of the Stefano Lubiana premium range has soared. The wines are immaculate: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Sparklings all packed with flavour intensity and perfect balance.
As Mike Bennie observed, "Geez, there’s been some wind in the sail on their estate in southern Tasmania. This is top notch stuff right here."
Steve, a fifth-generation winemaker, is now one of Tasmania's leading producers, no doubt about it.
