I think it’s important for anyone who appreciates the efforts that go into making wine to try and track down a few bottles of Sijnn. There are few projects that epitomize such a soulful, pioneering approach to winemaking.

About The Wine
Predominantly Chenin Blanc this stunningly vibrant white sings with mouth-watering acidity cleverly layered with slatey minerality, pear skin grip and a touch of honeyed richness. It's complex, mineral, fragrant, refreshing, and supple, everything you could wish for in a white wine.
Malgas is a largely undiscovered corner of South Africa but Charla Haasbroek is certainly making her mark, this is a great example of her talent and a wine that we would urge anyone with an interest in the great wine stories of the world to try.
About Sijnn
Sijnn (pronounced Senn) was born when David and Rita Trafford visited Malgas in 2000 and found an isolated and undiscovered wine region bursting with potential. Malgas is just 15km inland from the Indian Ocean and, whilst the climate is warm, the temperatures are reliably cooled by sea breezes. Combine this with poor soils of alluvial shales you can see what attracted the Traffords to this stunning spot.
The vineyards are planted to a variety of grapes with Chenin Blanc central to the whites whilst the reds revolve around Syrah and a selection of Portuguese varieties chosen to suit the Douro-esque soils.
Sijnn released their first wines in 2007 to great acclaim and have since welcomed Charla Haasbroek as winemaker. Charla is young, dynamic, and confidently taking the estate to even greater heights.
Discoveries like Sijnn are exciting, rare, and one of the great joys of wine.
