About this Wine
While for the most part Panevino focus on producing red wine, this Vermentino is really the exception to the rule. Tino is one of the few white wines produced by Gianfranco Manca, and it’s a real expression of region.
All naturally fermented and left on skins the wine is bold and so very expressive. Full of minerality, and very savoury.
With wines like this is best to serve them cool but not cold, so the full expression of style can be enjoyed.
About Panevino
Panevino; translated and bread and wine, and so apt here, as winemaker Gianfranco Manca was raised a baker.
Inheriting his family bakery, there just so happened to be old untended vines as part of the property.
He saw a natural progression from bread to wine with the help of these old vines. Although Gianfranco started making wine in the mid 1980’s, it wasn’t until 2005 that he shared them with the world.
He feels a real deep connection with the land and the vines and has a real soulfulness about him. I guess that to be expected of someone whose biggest influences are Jesus, and Bob Dylan.
