Compelling and complex. A beautiful wine.

About The Wine
Chef Brendan Cato, also of Carto Wines, and Erinn Klein hooked up at the sustainability love-fest that was the Rootstock wine and food festival.
The Ngarto project is a place for them to fuse ideas, meld minds and make some delicious things from fruit grown with love.
This 'Field Blend' is not what you might expect. Where that term is traditionally used for a collection of varieties that may have no common thread other than their place of origin, these two varieties: Shiraz and Viognier, have a long and storied history together.
This is no aping Rhone knock-off, nor some challenger to the well-known Shiraz Viogniers of Australia, it's a wine built for drink now at speed, where Viognier bring a glossy sunshine lift to the hiraz, making it irresistible from day one.
About Ngeringa
Erinn & Janet Klein are pioneers of biodynamic viticulture in Australia.
Their Adelaide Hills vineyard has been certified biodynamic for more than 20 years. They are deeply passionate about the health and well-being of their soils and plants. It's a bucolic scene they have created in their little part of the world.
In the winery, they favour low-intervention winemaking allowing their pristine fruit to fully express itself. And they have been instrumental in mentoring many of the younger-generation winemakers pursuing a more natural approach to winemaking in the Hills.
With an eclectic range that spans everything from experimental to classical stylings, Ngeringa offers a little something for everyone.
