About The Wine
This wine comes from the McIntyre home vineyard in Mornington Peninsula, and year after year the fruit from this dry-grown block produces brilliant wines of intensity and structure.
Great fruit weight, with opulent dark berries and a mulchy autumnal element that will deepen with age. There's power and firm tannins, and an overall feel of sheer quality.
The McIntyre Vineyard Pinot Noir is a wine for quiet contemplation not balcony drinking. It will cellar just as well it impresses on release - this is a wonderful wine from a top-flight producer.
About Moorooduc Estate
Richard and Jill McIntyre’s Moorooduc Estate is one of the gems of the Mornington Peninsula, and one of the region's pioneers, first planting grapes in 1983.
Inspired by the great wines of Burgundy, they have developed their own reputation for producing extremely classy wines across the board.
These are powerful and yet intricate wines that showcase their impeccable vineyard sources in a great light.

This single vineyard wine from our home vineyard in Derril Road is further evidence of what our fine vineyard site and mature vines can produce in a really good year. It includes some wine from interesting clones grafted onto our old cabernet vines (planted in 1983).
Deep ruby red with quite a closed nose, that opens slowly. Black and red cherries, with kirsch-like concentration, a touch of black raspberry and woody herbs like thyme and rosemary combine with some violet perfume lift. On the palate the wine is dark fruited, concentrated yet tangy, with black velvet tannin structure that coats all corners of the mouth. So much vibrancy and complexity, this wine is worth spending some time with as it opens up and reveals layers of flavour and terrific length..

"Very bright, deepish purple/red colour, impressive appearance. The bouquet is reserved yet sweet-fruited, with lots of sweet dark-cherry to raspberry nuances and a hint of 'forest floor', which all continue onto the palate, where it's fruit-sweet, ripe and almost opulent, yet the abundant tannins hold it all in check and provide serious structure, contributing to a very long carry. Do I have to order in dozens? No, please mix it up! You can order wines in any quantity and variation you like. You can order 1 bottle or 50. We challenge you to make the ultimate mixed pack of wine!
Are there volume discounts? No, our pricing is designed to be the best in market already - no marking up and then discounting down! For very large orders (weddings, etc) we are open to negotiating though. Just give us a call.
Do we price match? Yes, within reason. Everyday low & consistent pricing is something we strongly believe in. We want our customers to feel confident they are always getting the best price. If you see a price lower somewhere else let us know and we'll consider matching it. We'll even retrospectively issue you store credit if you have already purchased from us but you see a lower price somewhere later on. Our price match policy can be seen here.
Can coupons and discounts be stacked? No, only one discount or coupon can be applied to an order at once.
I am trying to add more of a wine to my cart but it won’t let me? This means we are running low on stock of that wine. So for example, if the website will only allow you to add 3 bottles and no more, then that is all we have of that particular wine. The good news is we may be able to order more for you. Does Different Drop have a physical store? No. Just an a warehouse/office. We occasionally do events however, so sign up to our newsletter or follow us on instagram to stay in the loop.
Can I special order a wine you do not sell? If it’s doable, then we’ll make it happen. Just contact us directly via phone, chat or email and we’ll find out for you right away. Please note that in most cases special orders such as these will need to be in full case lots (6 or 12 bottles).
