About The Wine
The Millton's mission behind this wine is to make one of the best examples of Chenin Blanc on the planet - they're certainly making a very good fist at it.
Every biodynamically farmed berry is destemmed then sent to a mix of large oak and stainless steel before bottling. The aim here is to highlight Chenin's natural texture and the concentration that the family sees in this vineyard.
It's a rich, powerful example of the variety - one that the Milltons are extremely proud of. It's the benchmark for Chenin Blanc in NZ and one of the best in the 'New World'.
About Millton
Millton was New Zealand's first certified organic and biodynamic winery, started by James and Annie Millton in 1984.
They put the Gisborne region on the east coast of NZ on the wine map, and established how great Chenin Blanc could be in the southern hemisphere.
They have three vineyard sites in Gisborne; Opou, Te Arai and the Clos de Ste. Anne are located in Manutuke, and they produce a wonderful range of classic and experimental wines.
