This is delicious and serious.

About This Wine
From the most southern vineyard in the McHenry Hohnen stable, the fruit is grown biodynamically and with great care.
The wine drives with aromas of dark berries over perfumed purple flowers and Asian spice. Lots of lift to the nose, and while the palate is initially juicy and sweet, it moves to a structured spice and savouriness. Great finish here as well, with length, and fine gravelly tannins.
Fruit, flowers, spice, this wine has it all. Well made, with thoughtful growing, nothing here not to like, a great expression of an Aussie Grenache blend..
About McHenry Hohnen
David Hohnen, not content with founding both Cape Mentelle and Cloudy Bay, also established McHenry Hohnen in 2004. It was a partnership with his brother in law, Murray McHenry, a well-known hotelier and retailer, who had planted his first vines twenty years earlier, supplying fruit to Cape Mentelle! An intricate web...
Though Hohnen retired in 2017 his pioneering work in organics and biodynamic viticulture continues.
The McHenry Hohnen wine estate now comprises twelve different varieties planted across the Hazel and Calgardup single sites, and the large Rocky Road farm, that is responsible for some great value entry level wines.
