About The Wine
If you're familiar with the Mallaluka range, you'll know it's never just straight down-the-line.
Here, Sam Leyshon puts his own spin on Chardonnay. This saw 24 hours of skin contact before pressing, then plenty of oxygen during the winemaking process. It's Sam's style to build some mad angles and interesting texture into each of his creations - this Chardonnay continues his MO. Also, a lick of new oak gives a luscious, enriching texture in the mouth.
If you're looking for a 'classic' Chardonnay, you might want to try elsewhere but if you want a white wine with some flesh, grip, attitude and plenty of x-factor, step this way.
About Mallaluka Wines
Mallaluka is a family affair in the Canberra district of NSW.
These estate-grown wines are made by second generation vigneron Sam Leyshon who has most recently learnt to ply his trade assisting Bryan Martin and Tim Kirk at Clonakilla.
These are modern wines that reflect the changing face of this exciting region. He makes wines with a wild side, they are made with minimal intervention and are insane value for money.
With Sam in the driver's seat, Mallaluka is one of the rising stars of the region, bringing a unique light and shade to the Canberra district.
