About The Wine
Sangiovese is now a mover and shaker in the Canberra region, which tends to have a lot of those. The Linear Sangio is much more pleasant to deal with, with tangy red fruit, some palate richness and a good, savoury tannic finale.
The fruit is sourced from two sites in the cool Canberra hills, is wild fermented, then aged in french oak for 11 months, with some whole bunch usage..
Good weekend drinking, but an excellent, flavoursome weekday tipple.
About Linear Wines
Ex-restaurateur Nathan Brown set up Linear in 2018 with a couple of small-batch Canberra releases. After escaping hospitality and enrolling in wine science at Charles Sturt Uni, a vintage at Collector Wines in 2017 evolved into a full-time roll with Alex McKay. From 2021 Nathan has turned his full attention to the development of Linear Wines.
Current and future releases will focus on small vineyard plots from around Canberra and NSW with an emphasis on emerging varietals. Look out for Gundagai Fiano, Pinot from Tumbarumba and Canberra Tempranillo and Sangiovese.
