About The Wine
This is Dominque Lucas' purest, and arguably most traditional, expression of Chasselas. It's bright and lemony with herbal notes. There is some great minerality running just beneath the surface that holds your interest again and again.
You could think of this wine as Alpine Muscadet if you wanted a point of reference, or even Western French Chablis, either way, it's lovely and deserves a spot in your fridge.
About Les Vignes de Paradis
5th generation winemaker Dominique Lucas has found his vinous home in Savoie on the border with Switzerland. He bought Les Vignes de Paradis in 2008 and has farmed the estate biodynamically since. The hero variety is Chasselas but he plays with plenty of other varieties too.
Dominique vinifies his grapes in an array of different amphorae, barrels, and concrete eggs, without following any specific path, rather trusting his intuition and intent. The lo-fi line up at this estate reads like a who's who of Chasselas so if you're interested to see just how diverse this underrated variety can be, start here.
