Fantastic, lithe, tense expression.
About The Wine
Three excellent sub-regional Pinot Noirs in Gareth and Rainbo's stable this year, with this, the Little Creek from Norton Summit, the lighter, more pixie-like of the trio.
As with the other two Pinots, this was made with 100% whole bunches and about a quarter of the oak barrels used were new.
The difference between the wines comes purely from the vineyard: in this case, with the soils a mix of clay, sandstone, schist and quartz rubble, a more ethereal, perfumed expression of Pinot Noir has emerged.
It's an intoxicating wine and will only be available for a limited time.
About Gentle Folk
Deep in the rolling vineyards of the Basket Range in the Adelaide Hills lives Gareth and Rainbo Belton.
They are two of the country's leading experts in seaweed who caught the wine bug a few years ago and now run a winery making small batches of fun and creative wines with their friends in the Basket range.
Gareth farms their three vineyards himself. He works organically in the vineyard and with little to no additions in the winery. The Gentle Folk wines have an energy and style all their own.
Made for drinking with friends and family, these are clean, unpretentious and delicious wines built for fun times. Get involved and be Gentle with each other.
