About The Wine
From Semillon in the Magnolia vineyard planted in 1941, farmed organically.
Semillon has falled out of favour in the Barossa over the last two decades but it could be seen as a classic regional grape - and it certainly is in the hands of Brett Grocke at Eperosa.
It's in the Hunter mould of crunchy citrus and grapefruit but with more density and succulence in its young life, and a saline, minerally edge. An Energising Barossa white.
About Eperosa
Eperosa is Brett Grocke's heart and soul.
Grocke is a fifth-generation born and raised Barossa viticulturalist/winemaker. Eperosa is the vessel through which he tells the stories of the small patches of the Barossa which he has cared for his whole life. He works with long-established vineyards planted on ancient soils and channels the regional warmth, richness and power of the Barossa with a deft artist's touch.
These wines are honest, robust and made with minimal intervention. A true representation of the modern Barossa with old vines and a rich family heritage as the backdrop.
Grocke's star is on the rise, being named James Halliday's Winemaker of the Year for 2021.
