About The Wine

If you like your reds fresh, light and totally smashable, then this beauty from Eldredge Estate should be right at the top of your hit list.

Under the guidance of owner/winemaker David Lloyd, Eldredge has carved out a space as one of Australia's premier producers of Pinot and in particular, Gamay. The 'PTG' is the collision between these two much-loved varieties.

This is the wine David makes for immediate drinking. It doesn't have the complexity of the Estate Pinot Noir or Gamay, but it seriously makes up for it with drinkability.

It's bright and joyous yet spicy and savoury, and is just one of those instantly loveable reds that's near impossible to put down!

About Eldridge Estate

When David and Wendy Lloyd purchased the picturesque Eldridge Estate on Red Hill in Mornington Peninsula in 1995, their mission was, "to produce hand crafted wines of distinction that are true to the grape variety and the flavours from our unique site."

It's fair to say that more than 20 years on, that dream has been fully realised. David runs the property with zero carbon footprint, continuously searching to optimise efficiency and the quality of his wines.

A deep dive into the right clonal material for the Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Gamay on his small block has seen the wines of David Lloyd become respected as among the finest of Mornington Peninsula.

Critic Reviews

95Points
Halliday Wine Companion

"A blend of 60% pinot noir, 40% gamay, it's the vinification that is intriguing and very successful. Called Carbo-Crush, the whole bunches are placed in a tank with no additions of any kind, the tank sealed and after a week a handful of bunches are removed and tasted - if there is an explosion of CO2, the bunches are destemmed and fermented dry (if no explosion the tank is resealed for a few more days). The bouquet is rich and complex, the palate likewise." - James Halliday (Halliday Wine Companion)

The Wine Front

"Such an easy wine to drink, but for such and easy wine to drink, it does have a fair bit of complexity and interest built in. Floral, juicy cherry, spice and meat. Medium-bodied, fresh and lively, but with some depth, a ‘mineral’ feel to the acidity, a light rasp of tannin, and a spicy meaty finish of fair length. Wonderful." - Gary Walsh (The Wine Front)
