About the Wine
If you've had Chardonnay from the Chablis AC level and are looking for something with a bit more richness and character, you can finds a tonne of great wines at the Premier Cru level, without needing to spend hundreds. The Domaine Daniel Dampt Chablis Cote de Lechet 1er Cru comes from a steep, 50-hectare vineyard on the banks of the Serein River, which has excellent sun exposure, allowing for supreme fruit ripeness.
With richness and concentration from the ripe Chardonnay grapes, the Domaine Daniel Dampt Chablis Cote de Lechet 1er Cru has subtle aromas and flavours of citrus, with excellent acidity, mouthfeel and balance, creating a really enjoyable wine that can cellar for over five years.
About Domaine Daniel Dampt
Based in Milly, Domaine Dampt is a significant Chablis estate with serious land holdings. They have 30 hectares of Chablis vines, 14 of which are in Premier Cru, taking in top sites like Vaillons, Fourchaume, Cote de Lechet, Les Lys and Beauroy.
Daniel took over the running of the domaine from his father-in-law Jean Defaix in the 1990's and retired in 2018. The new generation in charge are Daniel's son Vincent and Sebastien.
