About The Wine
With Abruzzo to the north, and Campania to the south, Molise is a little known mountainous wine region in Italy. Sparsely populated, it’s not often we see wines from here.
This organic Montepulicano and Aglianico blend comes from probably the best known producer in the region, Alessio Di Majo. The wine shows itself to share the structure of its northern regional neighbour, alongside the juiciness of its southern neighbour. Dark berries, a savoury meatiness, all in harmony with the dusty tannin and fleshiness of the wine.
The cultural diversity of Italy is mirrored in its wine producing regions, and this unique wine from Molise is testament to that!
About Di Majo Norante
Alessio Di Majo is the latest in a long line of family winemakers dating back to 1800, utilising the same cellars as his ancestors that are underneath the square, and in the old family building at Campomarino.
Di Majo Norante produces its own wines from grapes grown in the 85 hectare vineyard of the ancient fief of the Marquises Norante di Santa Cristina, all farmed bio-organically.
In the winery they are dedicated to extracting the full potential of their fruit, ensuring they use the most modern technology in their winemaking. Environmental care has become a large focus for them as well, using for example, purified water from the estate for irrigation, and also investing in solar power.
Their goal is to become self-sufficient with their energy usage, safeguarding the environment to ensure their future.
