About The Wine
The wines from David Croix and Damien Courbet's first vintage are absolute showstoppers, and this fruity, and electric Savagnin is no exception.
Made in the "ouillé" style (as opposed to the oxidative, nutty Savagnins that also come out of the Jura), this drop is as fresh as it gets. Slow, whole-cluster pressing, wild yeast fermentation, and a mix of concrete and neutral oak all combine to make a superb expression of the grape in all of its minerally, citrus-driven glory!
All the grapes come from organically-farmed vineyards, with a small amount of sulphur added at fermentation and just prior to bottling.
About Croix & Courbet
Croix & Courbet is the exciting new collaboration between David Croix (the man behind the up-and-coming star of Burgundy's Cote de Beaune, Domaine des Croix) and Damien Courbet from the Jura's Domaine Courbet.
After first meeting at winemaking school in Dijon, the two hit it off and bonded over a shared love of minimal intervention, low-sulphur wines. They also share a love of the Jura's star grape, Savagnin, all of which they source from organic or biodynamically farmed vineyards.
2019 was the pair's first vintage, and with such stellar wines, there's hopefully plenty more to come.

Jura, France.
