About The Wine
Dan Buckle's Circe Pinot is a lovely, mid-weight earthy wine.
Sourced from three small Pinot vineyards across the Mornington, the colour is light for Mornington Pinot, and the aromas are of dark cherries and autumn foliage. Good tangy finish to an excellent value proposition.
Circe was a mythical sorceress who tried to change Odysseus into a pig. This is a seductive little number but maybe not to that extent.
About Circe
Dan Buckle's winemaking journey has taken him from Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne to Coldstream Hills, Langi Ghiran, Domaine Chandon, and now, back to his home in Mornington Peninsula with his passion project that is Circe.
This label was conceived during the Langi days with his partner in crime Aaron Drummond. “I wanted a creative outlet where I could do whatever I want. We wanted to get back to what the Mornington does best - which is mostly Pinot Noir”, Dan told us when he popped in.
The Peninsula is in his blood. Heard of the Buckle Vineyard made famous by Tuck's Ridge? Well, Dan's dad planted that vineyard in the 80's. He's one of "those" Buckles. This wine captures his love and knowledge of the region.
