About The Wine
Mingaco is a natural wine project based in the village of Chekura close to the Itata River in south-western Chile. They could best be described as a natural wine farm with volunteer workers from around the world helping out,commune-style.
They are true adherents to biodynamic and organic philosophies, and use no additives whatsoever.
This dry, aromatic white is both crunchy and cloudy, made from Muscat of Alexandria, and is partly aged outdoors in glass vats, so expect a touch of oxidation
Tiny production of just 4,000 bottles, so try and make sure you get one of them.
About Chekura Mingaco
In hills covered with old vineyards in the town of Checura, between the Itata river and the Biobío, the exciting Mingaco project was born in early 2016, led by a new generation of farmers.
The viticulturist Pablo Pedreros, along with Daniela De Pablo, took on the challenge of converting the ancient plantings of Cinsault and Moscatel de Alejandría, to full-bore biodynamics.
In an era of uncertainty regarding the semantics of natural/ biodynamic wine production, there can be no equivocation with these wines - they are all natural, no additive wines par excellence.
