About The Wine
Merlot-dominant Bordeaux blend from a wonderful, small lo-fi producer - which is a true rarity in a big company wine region..
This is terrific value for those seeking to scratch the premium 'BDX itch' without busting the bank account. It's graceful, midweight, and while it carries some tannin they are unobtrusive, and help extend the gentle weight of the wine.
Excellent value Bordeaux for immediate enjoyment or a few years in the cellar.
About Chateau le Puy
Jean-Pierre Amoreau and his son Pascal farm a small 50 hectare vineyard in the 'Côtes de Francs' region of Bordeaux.
This Chateau has been in the family since 1610 and produces fine, elegant Merlot-dominant blends with a natural bent.
Their vines are tended with adherence to the principals of biodynamics, the wines are made with little interference. It's a more 'hands-off' approach than you would typically see in this region, that is yielding fantastic wines of clarity and precision.
