About The Wine
Frenchman Tom Puyaubert came to Rioja by way of Bordeaux as a representative of a famous French oak cooper.
After getting to know the locals as customers, Tom fell in love with the traditions of the region and decided to fulfil his lifelong goal of producing his own wines and so Exopto (Latin for "To desire eagerly, long for.") was born.
He selects his fruit from special vineyards scattered around the cooler, higher altitude parts Rioja. He looks for old established vineyards on hungry soils, and is now producing small batch wines of remarkable quality that deliver excellent value for money.
This is his earlier-drinking red offering. It's a blend of predominantly Tempranillo with a splash of Garnacha and Graciano coaxed into a silky yet spicy wine of supreme drinkability.
