About The Wine
The Basket Range Red is an unusual but fun little blend of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir from the Adelaide Hills.
The fruit was grown with love on the Broderick family vineyard, young Sholto took a couple of barrels of Cabernet, a couple of Petit Verdotand added one barrel of Pinot looking for a little extra lift. The experiment worked a treat.
It's a classic 'village wine', it's made for easy drinking and fun times. It's an exciting development for the younger generation of Broderick family as Sholto and his brother Louis explore their new part of the family business.
About Basket Range Wine
The Broderick family have farmed their little piece of the Adelaide Hills since the 1980's.
Phillip, the Broderick patriarch, has made a more classical style of wine from his fruit for the last few decades and now son Sholto has started making his own juice along side him.
Sholto's stuff is a bit looser in style, more in line with the frisky 'vin-de-soif' style of wine coming from the Basket Range community. The wines are fun and playful and made without little to no additions. These are quintessential picnic wines built for swishing in tumblers in the sun.
