About The Wine
Sholto Broderick's Cabernet wines are some of his best.
In this slightly warmer part of the Adelaide Hills, the conditions conspire perfectly for Cabernet. Considered growing and a gentle hands-off apporach in the cellar gets the very best out of the Broderick vineyard fruit.
This is a supple, mid-weight Cabernet that show wonderful fragrence and delicacy. It's a gorgeous, unique expression of the variety from a young producer truly coming into his own as a winemaker.
About Basket Range Wine
The Broderick family have farmed their little piece of the Adelaide Hills since the 1980's.
Phillip, the Broderick patriarch, has made a more classical style of wine from his fruit for the last few decades and now son Sholto has started making his own juice along side him.
Sholto's stuff is a bit looser in style, more in line with the frisky 'vin-de-soif' style of wine coming from the Basket Range community. The wines are fun and playful and made without little to no additions. These are quintessential picnic wines built for swishing in tumblers in the sun.
