About The Wine
Matías Michelini is one of the renegades of the Argentinian wine scene.
In a region dominated by conservative winemaking, Matías is working to push boundaries and promote more experimental, creative wines from the region.
This is Mendoza Malbec, but not as you know it.
Picked from a biodynamic vineyard at 1350m above sea level, this wine is fermented in concrete and aged in terracotta, allowing the pure, sinewy character of the fruit to shine.
When you think of Argentinian Malbec, you think thick, oaky, decadent wines, but this wild child is more athletic and energetic. It's all the more wonderful for it!
About Barbarians
Barbarians is a wine collective of small, new wave wine families based in Mendoza. It was started by the Michelini brothers, Matias and Geraldo.
Each family within the collective shares the same winemaking philosophies - making wines with distinct personality that are all natural, sustainable, well-crafted, high-quality and expressive.
They push the boundaries of what you'd expect from Argentinian wine - and they do it passionately with delicious results.
