A wine of detail.
Huon Hooke (The Real Review)
About the Wine
The fruit from the Reserve Pinot Noir is sourced from the five best clones on the Ashton Hills Estate.
It boasts aromas of red fruits and plum, entwined with savoury notes. It was aged in French oak, which gives the wine layers of fine tannins that provide a lingering, supple finish.
This is a deliciously powerful Pinot Noir, and it's no wonder that Ashton Hills is being regarded as one of the most distinguished sites in South Australia for producing this variety.
About Ashton Hills
Just below the summit of Mount Lofty lies Ashton Hills, a vineyard that has become known as one of Australia's finest producer of Pinot Noir and cool climate whites.
Current winemaker, Stephen George, keeps his philosophy on winemaking pretty simple, with a focus on minimal intervention on the wine. The resulting wines are elegant and delicate representations of the unique site of the vineyard.
