We like to think of it as the Barossa’s answer to Pinot Noir.
About The Wine
Old vine Barossa Grenache is one of Ruby and Craig's true passions.
The vineyard that supplies them the fruit for this wine is located in the Greenock sub-region on the Western side of the Barossa. These gnarled old bush vines were planted in 1920, today they yield fruit that is vibrant and perfumed - old vines making youthful wines.
They treat it gently in the winery. The fruit is mostly destemmed then aged in decade old hogshead barrels. These inert vessels impart virtually no flavour on the wine so all you see is pure Barossa Grenache in all its rosy glory.
The couple sum it up well, "it is a wine for ‘drinkin, not thinkin’ – just a celebration of pure, delicious old vine Barossa Grenache."
About Arno Wine Co.
Arno Wine Co. is a small husband and wife team based in the Barossa Valley, SA.
Ruby studied wine at Adelaide University, Craig cut his teeth alongside Matt Wenk and Taras Ochota at Two Hands Wines. Craig was working in a wine bar in Adelaide when Ruby walked in - as they say, the rest was history.
Arno Wine Co. (named after their son Arno) is their collaborative project which has been a full-time commitment since 2017. The wines focus on what the Barossa does best - old vine Grenache, Shiraz, Cabernet and Semillon.
Smartly packaged, well priced, made with love and care from good Barossa sites. What's not to love?
