About the Wine
Arneis has long been regarded as a relatively difficult variety to grow, as may be indicated by its name translating to 'little rascal' in English.
Alberto Oggero makes growing this variety look easy, though. The fruit for this wine comes from their Outsider vineyard, where 80-year-old Arneis vines grow interspersed with Nebbiolo vines.
The finished product is a homage to the site and these old vines; a deliciously dry white that pairs well with a wide variety of dishes.
About Alberto Oggero
Growing up, Alberto Oggero would often follow his grandfather Sandro through the vines
It sparked a life-long love affair with making wine from his home area of Roero. He studied oenology in Alba, gaining the technical skills to compliment his passion. And in 2009 Alberto took over his grandfather's vineyard, eventually fulfilling his long-time dream of restoring the old family house and cellar.
He now lovingly tends to 3 hectares of vines across his home, producing wonderful wines from Nebbiolo and Arneis - in his words... "juice of the land."
