Here's the first release of Ziggurat Chardonnay from young talent, Ricky Evans.
This is the Chardonnay that Ricky gets to experiment with before crafting his exquisite Dog & Wolf Chardonnay.
A portion of this wine was fermented on skins, Ricky in search of more interesting texture without resorting to intense oak for mouthfeel.
The finished wine is a more savoury, smashable version of Chardonnay that offers great value for money.
About Two Tonne Tasmania
Two Tonne Tasmania is the brainchild of Ricky Evens.
With the slogan ‘small parcels, big love’, Ricky’s approach is all about growing pristine, healthy fruit, harvesting at the right time, and then having to do as little as possible in the winery thereafter.
Since his serendipitous entry into the much sort after sub-region of the Tamar Valley in 2013, his first few releases have made quite a few waves.
Pinot Noir is Ricky’s game, and he plays hardball. And his Rieslings and Chardonnays are excellent regional examples which showcase the purity and elegance of modern Tasmanian wine.
