About The Wine
One of Trimbach's newer wines, from a parcel of the famed Schlossberg Grand Cru acquired in 2014.
A dry and delicate style, without any overt unctuousness, which is the style of Trimbach, who tend to pick and release wines relatively early for the region.
After the citrus and peachy initial hit there's good amount of grip and power and even a tannic edge. But this, of course, is a wine to cellar and evolve, which it will do, very slowly!
About Trimbach
The origins of Trimbach go back as far as 1626, and it is still in family hands, 12 generations down the line. They are quite simply the icon winery of Alsace.
Based around their winery in Ribeauville they have around 57 hectares of vineyards including several famous Grand Cru sites, with Riesling being the obvious calling card among the other Alsatian aromatic whites.
Their masterpieces are the famous Rieslings, Clos Saint Hune and Cuvee Frederic Emile, which are among France's greatest white wines, though they are rarely seen.
