About The Wine
This is the flagship white wine of Suertes del Marqués - breathtaking, electric white made from Listán Blanco (Palomino). This is the ultimate expression of Jonatan Garcia Lima's precious ancient volcanic vineyards.
When people talk about a sense of place in wine, this is what they are talking about. The bony soils of volcanic rock make these vines fight for their life. This eternal struggle (now more than 200 years in the making for some plots) intensifies the flavours and textures of the wine to a very high level.
The sense of liquid minerality in this wine is plpable. It's tight, flinty, saline and impossibly long through the finish. It's a wonderful drinking experience.
About Suertes del Marques
Suertes del Marqués is a family winery that has been producing wines since 2006 on the wind-swept island of Tenerife, part of the Canary Islands, off the Atlantic Coast of Africa.
Guardian of the many indigenous grape varieties, owner/winemaker Jonatan Garcia Lima is passionate about maintaining local winemaking traditions (check out their 'trenzado' trellising), minimal sulphur usage and homeopathic vineyard treatments.
Garcia Lima is part of a small, revolutionary contingent of vignerons that are making it their mission to consolidate and care for the ancient vines on the island. These charming naturally produced wines speak of some wild, untamed terroir and are unlike anything else you will find in Spain or anywhere.
