About The Wine

The Andelmonde is a wine that has had a little reprieve from Dan Standish's range over the last few years.

In 2018, it's back in a big way.

Andelmonde comes from a vineyard just a stone's throw from Dan's winery in the Light Pass parish of the Barossa. It's the most red-fruited of the epic Standish Shiraz', a little lighter on its feet than the booming The Standish or Schubert Theorem.

The quality is uniformly excellent from Standish Wine Co. The Andelmonde just adds a slightly different shade.

About Standish Wine Co.

Dan Standish is one of the most outstanding Barossa producers in the game today.

A sixth-generation Barossan, Dan started the Standish Wine Co. in 1999. Over the intervening years, his wines have amassed unanimous acclaim. His offerings now rank amongst the rarest and most sort after Barossa wines for collectors in the know.

After learning his trade at Torbreck, under his eponymous label, Dan has pursued a quest to showcase some of the Barossa region's finest and most ancient sites.

Stylish, seductive and devastatingly powerful, the Standish wines are Barossa wines with unmistakable X-Factor.

From The Producer

I'm thrilled to release my 2018 Single Vineyard offerings, the 20th vintage from The Standish Wine Company.

The 2018 harvest saw arguably the best growing and ripening season I have seen in my couple of decades making wine. Above average rainfall in Winter helped boost canopy growth in Spring, followed by a prolonged "Indian Summer" well into April. The perfect recipe for small berries and concentrated grape flavours. This has given us the opportunity to bottle our usual range of cuvées as well as an old favourite Andelmonde, from Shiraz grown around the winery right here in Light Pass.

Blend : Shiraz (100%)
Closure : Cork
Drink Until : 2040
Bottle Size : 750ml

The Wine Advocate

94 - 96 points - "Sourced from a vineyard not far from the winery in the Light Pass subregion of Barossa Valley, the 2018 Andelmonde Shiraz boasts lovely raspberry perfumes and gentle herbal nuances of mint and black tea. Full-bodied and creamy-textured, with a long, silky finish and mouthwatering acids, it's another fabulous effort from Dan Standish." - Joe Czerwinski (The Wine Advocate)

FaQs
Do I have to order in dozens?

No, please mix it up! You can order wines in any quantity and variation you like. You can order 1 bottle or 50. We challenge you to make the ultimate mixed pack of wine!

Are there volume discounts?

No our pricing is aiming to the best in the market already. For very large orders (weddings etc) we are open to negotiating though. Just give us a call. How does the price match work?

Everyday Low & Consistent Pricing is something we strongly believe in. We want our customers to feel confident they are always getting the best price. If you see a price lower somewhere else let us know and we'll match it. We'll even retrospectively refund you if you have already purchased from us but you see a lower price somewhere later on. Our price match policy can be seen here.

I am trying to add more of a wine to my cart but it won’t let me?

This means we are running low on stock of that wine. So for example, if the website will only allow you to add 3 bottles and no more, then that is all we have of that particular wine. The good news is we may be able to order more for you. Just contact us on 1300 668 385 or hello@differentdrop.com and we'll organise the additional quantity for you.

Does Different Drop have a physical store?

No, not really. More of a warehouse/office. We do however offer a Click & Collect option from our warehouse in Ultimo, Sydney. Our warehouse address for Click & Collect is: F5A, 42 Wattle St, Ultimo, 2007

Can I special order a wine you do not sell?

If it’s doable, then we’ll make it happen. Just contact us directly via phone, chat or email and we’ll find out for you right away. Please note that in most cases special orders such as these will need to be in full case lots (6 or 12 bottles).
