About The Wine
Shadowfax are producing some very interesting wines from around all parts of Victoria.
Their Macedon Ranges Pinot Noir is a great example of the quality coming out of this winery at the moment. This wine comes from the Little Hampton, Midhill, Mt Macedon and Big Shed vineyards. The fruit is destemmed and fermented as 100% whole berries giving the wine a lively, juicy, fruit-forward style.
It makes it ready to drink right away and ready to drink with gusto. For those wanting to get familiar with the Pinot Noirs of the Macedon region, this would be a great place to start.
Alister Timms is the man directing the winemaking show at Shadowfax wines in Werribee, VIC.
He combines excellent estate grown fruit from their Werribee and Macedon Ranges vineyards with some fruit from good growers in regions such as the Barossa Valley and Geelong to create an eclectic array of high-class wines.
Pinot Noir and Chardonnay is their main focus, but the quality from the rarely seen Mondeuse to Barossa Shiraz is uniformly excellent.
