About The Wine
Olivier Morin's family have lived in Chitry le Fort for longer than anyone can remember.
His house was built by his great-great-grandparents, and his grandfather was the first vigneron in their region to bottle his own wines. It's fair to say, the terroir of the region is in his bones.
The family vineyards are located just south of Chablis, so their particular style of wine shows on the leaner style of Burgundy. These are terrific wines that show a through-line of minerality and a sense of tension.
The Chardonnay, as you would imagine, is tight, flinty and extremely elegant. It's a lovely wine in a tighter style that will develop nicely over the mid term.
About Domaine Olivier Morin
After originally starting a career in music, Olivier Morin took over his family's winemaking business in 1992. The family had been in the wine trade since the 17th century, in the small Burgundian town of Chitry.
With his wife Nelly, Olivier crafts wines from land which is only a stone's throw away from Chablis, home to some amazing Chardonnay-based wines. While not certified organic, they endeavour to farm by these practices as much as possible.
Domaine Olivier Morin focuses on reds from Pinot Noir, whites from Chardonnay and Aligote, as well as sparkling wines (Cremant de Bourgogne) from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The wines always show amazing value and Olivier and Nelly's dedication to the grape.
