About The Wine
Powerful Pinot Noir from Waipara, just to the north of Christchurch, its dark colour and earthy character coming from the limestone-rich soil.
Exotic herbs and spices mesh with dark plum and cherry on the nose and palate and there is a firm hand of tannin adding support and guidance - grape tannin not oak though.
A good bet for development in the cellar, this is great to drink now for a deeply satisfying glass of organic NZ Pinot.
About Muddy Water
Muddy Water was the first certified organic winery in Waipara, just to the north of Christchurch. It's name is a direct translation of Waipara.
Founded back in 1993, it lies in the scenic beauty of the Teviotdale Hills in the Waipara Valley, covering 12 hectares of vines, and a small olive grove. The Thomas family have run the estate since 2011, with a major focus on organics, biodiversity and sustainable practice.
On the wine side.. they release tremendous Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and a rare Pinotage from NZ.
