About The Wine
As you follow the Mosel river towards Koblenz you arrive at Zeltinger after you have passed through the more famous villages of Grach and Wehlen. Zeltinger has clay slate soils and a North Westerly aspect. Like all great Mosel these wines have cut glass clarity with a core of pithy citrus and white stone fruit but Zeltinger bottlings are some of the raciest and they have a distinctively spicy character.
This is a typical expression and, drunk from Magnum, it’s one of those wines that make you feel invincible, the energy of the wine is contagious and it inspires you to get up and go and grab life by the horns. It’s also a complete bargain.
About Markus Molitor
Markus Molitor took over his father's winery in the mid-1980s, when in its eighth generation of family ownership.
He approaches winemaking with meticulosity, endeavouring to make wines typical of the Mosel region that are reminiscent of the "golden times" of Mosel Riesling.
He allows the location and environment to reflect within the wine, creating individual and expressive wines. His strict and careful craftsmanship creates wines of the highest qualities, and some of the most beautiful from the region.
