This Pet-Nat is from the hands of Owen Latta.
Owen is exploring the world of natural winemaking at his home winery in Ballarat, the venture into natural sparkling was the next obvious step.
This is made from Pinot Gris which, as with all Petillant Naturel, has continued the final stages of its ferment inside the bottle.
This is a clean, crisp style of fizz with a delicate fruitiness which makes it the ideal accompaniment to hot days, big hats and picnic blankets under a shady tree.
It comes only in magnum form because magnums are awesome.
About Eastern Peake / Latta Vino
Is anyone working as hard as Owen Latta to put Ballarat in the mix of Australia's foremost wine regions? At only 15 years old he completed his first vintage at Eastern Peake alongside his father and has since taken on the full-time running of the business.
Owen is the man primarily responsible for both the Eastern Peake and Latta wines, the former of which being dedicated to premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Eastern Peake vineyard, and the latter being Owen's personal project all about innovation from a range of excellent central Victorian vineyards.
The wines are all gently brought to life with very astute yet hands-off winemaking, and Owen's low and zero-sulphur wines are some of the best examples in the country. These are thrilling, absolutely unique Victorian wines, and quite simply Owen Latta is one of Australia's finest young winemakers.
