About The Wine
The Brooks Road Shiraz is one of the more characterful Shiraz you will find from McLaren Vale.
With the vineyard located not too far the Adelaide Hills, it has a distinctly savoury, black olive character not often found in this region. It's an excellent wine with flavour and structure to boot and is definitely something that can be revisited again and again over a decade or two.
With 98 points from James Halliday and 95 points from Campbell Mattinson, the quality of this wine and its pedigree are apparent in every sip. It is easy to see why some of the biggest names in wine have made the pilgrimage for this fruit for more than 40 years. It will continue to mature gracefully for years to come.
About Hickinbotham
The Hickinbotham vineyard is somewhat of a legend amongst the Australian winemaking community.
Planted in 1971 in the Clarendon region, fruit from this important site has contributed to some of the most iconic wines in Australia's history, including Penfolds Grange, Eileen Hardy and Clarendon Hills.
Recently, the vineyard has undergone somewhat of a renaissance after being purchased by American wine juggernaut, the Jackson family, and being placed into the winemaking care of Yangarra winemaker Peter Fraser and respected American winemaker, Chris Carpenter.
These are elite premium wines that are made limited quantities and are built to mature gracefully. The ultimate addition to any serious collector's cellar.
