About The Wine
The Chiroubles cru sits high behind the two iconic crus of Morgon and Fleurie on the western side of the famous appellation.
This is the most perfumed and elegant of the fantastic Georges Descombes crus, an explosion of flowers and red fruits with exceptional fine, filigree tannin.
It's the sort of Beaujolais that makes you swoon.
Pretty yet powerful and precise, only small amounts of this stunning Beaujolais are available for a limited time.
About Georges Descombes
Georges Descombes is the son of a Beaujolais vigneron who found his inspiration for his own label in the legendary wines of local legend, Marcel Lapierre.
Whilst working on the bottling line for many of the local producers, Georges was taken with the purity and finesse of the wines of Lapierre who's natural approach has carved a path for so many in the region. Georges has taken his father's traditional farming practices to another level, now having both his inherited and acquired vineyards certified organic and choosing a hands-off approach in the cellar.
Considered the unofficial fifth member of the legendary "Gang of Four" of top-flight Beaujolais revolutionaries, his wines are of the highest repute.
