About This Wine
Produced in absolutely tiny quantities, the Amethyste Cote Rotie from Domain Bernard Levet is the kind of wine that Rhone lovers salivate over.
Quite traditional in style, it is a wholesome and rustic expression of Northern Rhone Syrah. Black fruited and spiced with a meaty character as well.
Assertive and powerful, this wine is only a baby, with so much evolution and development to undergo. With such a tiny amount allocated to Australia each year, it’s a wine you’ll need to jump on quick, then lay down for the long haul.
About Domaine Bernard Levet
Bernard Levet’s wines are built for ageing, and at maturity reflect, most effectively, the true nature of Cote Rotie terroir.
Taking over the estate that had belonged to his wife’s family in 1983, Bernard and Nicole committed to ensuring the future of the estate into the 3rd generation.
Now run by their daughter Agnes, their total production is between tiny, between 12-15,000 bottles per year.
With 3.5 ha of vines spread across six sites, the wines of Bernard Levet are a true expression of Cote Rotie, and its varied sub-regions.
