About The Wine
In 2016 Brendan Keys and Gareth Belton (Gentle Folk) split the fruit from this highly prized, biodynamically grown Syrah vineyard in the Adelaide Hills.
Brendan takes the fruit to this day, each year naming the wine after the point in the lunar cycle when the fruit was picked. It's a tip of the cap to the biodynamic practices used on this special site.
There was only a small amount of this made, which is a pity.
It's one of those wines where everything came together perfectly for BK. Great cool climate Syrah from this bad boy of Adelaide Hills wine.
About BK Wines
BK Wines is one of the poster boys of the modern artisan wine movement in the Adelaide Hills.
Owner/winemaker Brendan Keys is not afraid to do things differently. His wines are all from single vineyards (some biodynamically farmed), fermented with wild yeasts, unfined and unfiltered, with extended skin contact and even clay fermentation eggs occasionally thrown in for good measure.
His wines are creatively imagined, an artist meets skateboarding punk rocker kind of vibe.
Brendan is one of the more respected producers of the Adelaide Hills avant-garde.
