About The Wine
Benjamin Leroux's Bourgogne Rouge comes from a selection of plots across Volnay, Pommard, and Meursault with a smattering of fruit from Hautes-Côtes de Nuits above Vosne-Romanée and village and 1er from Monthelie.
It's a wine of great finesse and balance with an extra level of detail and complexity than you would normally see of red Burgundy at this price point.
It's the length, precision and extension of flavour that sets this apart from other Bourgonge Rouge. This is no clumsy, fumbling Burgundy, but an athletic wine of tension with red fruits and rosy floral notes to burn.
Another great release from Leroux and arguably his best under this label to date.
About Benjamin Leroux
Burgundian native Benjamin Leroux is one of the brightest minds and winemaking talents of his generation.
Considered a winemaking prodigy from an early age, Leroux attended the Lycée Viticole in Baune at the tender age of 13. Then, at the age of just 26, he ascended to the roles of manager and winemaker in the famed cellars of Domaine Comte Armand - a remarkable vote of confidence in one so young.
In 2007 he launched his eponymous label to wide critical acclaim. His has been a meteoric rise through the ranks of Burgundy's producers. His incisive modern approach to winemaking combined with his deep knowledge and respect for tradition has seen his small, hand-crafted cuveés coveted by collectors across the world.
These wines speak eloquently of where they come from. A legend in the making, Leroux's wines are some of the most exciting in modern-day Burgundy.

From The Importer
This year’s blend includes a quarter of declassified villages-level wine from St-Romain and Monthélie. The Bourgogne-level fruit is drawn mostly from the excellent Maison Dieu in Pommard, Les Mont Pellans in Meursault, some Estate vines in Volnay and even a little contribution from Vosne-Romanée (Croix Blanches). The remaining 25% comes from the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits above Vosne-Romanée.
The élevage took place in 22-hectolitre Grenier cask supported by a few 228-litre Burgundian pièce. There was no new oak used, and the grapes were entirely de-stemmed. But these are details; the most important thing to know is that it’s a superb wine for its level—deep and generous, remarkably rich for Bourgogne (with dark cherry, mocha, iodine notes) and a spicy, dark chocolate noted close.

Do I have to order in dozens? No, please mix it up! You can order wines in any quantity and variation you like. You can order 1 bottle or 50. We challenge you to make the ultimate mixed pack of wine!
Are there volume discounts? No, our pricing is designed to be the best in market already - no marking up and then discounting down! For very large orders (weddings, etc) we are open to negotiating though. Just give us a call.
Do we price match? Yes, within reason. Everyday low & consistent pricing is something we strongly believe in. We want our customers to feel confident they are always getting the best price. If you see a price lower somewhere else let us know and we'll consider matching it. We'll even retrospectively issue you store credit if you have already purchased from us but you see a lower price somewhere later on. Our price match policy can be seen here.
Can coupons and discounts be stacked? No, only one discount or coupon can be applied to an order at once.
I am trying to add more of a wine to my cart but it won’t let me? This means we are running low on stock of that wine. So for example, if the website will only allow you to add 3 bottles and no more, then that is all we have of that particular wine. The good news is we may be able to order more for you. Just contact us on 02 8376 8775 or hello@differentdrop.com and we'll organise the additional quantity for you.
Does Different Drop have a physical store? No. Just an a warehouse/office. We occasionally do events however, so sign up to our newsletter or follow us on instagram to stay in the loop.
Can I special order a wine you do not sell? If it’s doable, then we’ll make it happen. Just contact us directly via phone, chat or email and we’ll find out for you right away. Please note that in most cases special orders such as these will need to be in full case lots (6 or 12 bottles).
