About The Wine
Ben Haines has a knack for coaxing the very best out of cool-climate Australian Shiraz. If you need further convincing, just look at the great work he did at Mount Langi during his tenure as winemaker.
For Ben's triumphant "Return To The Vale", he has chosen a particularly cool patch of the region, a biodynamically farmed vineyard in the north of McLaren Vale as his source.
He has turned out a beauty here. It's a dark, savoury and slightly wild Shiraz with a brightness of fruit which is possibly A-typical of the region and absolutely gorgeous to drink.
About Ben Haines Wines
Ben Haines has a passion for producing wines that speak with a sense of place.
Ben's philosophy that, "Provenance is the heart and soul of all great things – family, culture, food, art…" has seen him become one of Victoria's most sort after winemakers.
He built a formidable reputation as Cheif Winemaker at Mt Langi Ghiran and that is only increasing with his sole focus now turned to own label, Ben Haines Wine.
Ben works with special sites across Victoria, crafting small batches of impeccable wines that tell the stories of these great sites.
