About The Wine
The Vinedos Viejos Vino de Montana Field Blend brings together Grenache (Garnacha) with two rare varieties (Rufete and Pinuela) for a light and delightful red blend.
Showing aromas of cherry, raspberry and a touch of spice which develops into a savaoury palate with herbal, spice, smoke and earth. Tannins are light while acidity is fresh, making a bright and playful wine.
With a few years in bottle already it's in a great spot at the moment, and while it can still have a few more years to rest, it should be drunk within the next few years.
About Vino de Montana
Vino de Montana is a range of wines made from grapes sourced from high-altitude vineyards in the Sistema Central, a mountain range running through the middle of Spain, dividing the northern and southern halves of the country.
The majority of the wines are made from Grenache (Garnacha in Spanish), as well as rare varieties that aren't easily found elsewhere, grown in grantie soil and offering delicate, perfumed and fresh wines.
Vino de Montana is an effort to provide a sustainable source of income for the growers, particularly after wine cooperatives had closed and left them with uncertain futures.
