Really delicious here, effortless stuff and so interesting.

About The Wine

Here's an interesting and versatile white blend from young Margaret River winemaker Remi Guise.

Remi has taken four of the original white varieties to be planted in the region and combined them into a fresh and decidedly savoury wine of gentle complexity and easy drinkability.

The blend of Chenin Blanc, Semillon, Chardonnay and Muscat is an unusual one, for sure, but all the elements of each variety play off each other seamlessly under Remi's handling.

Mike Bennie raved about it in his review of this wine, crowing, "Summer wine of highest order here. Should be gracing the bistros and wine bars from here to kingdom come."

About tripe.Iscariot

Remi Guise is starting something very compelling in Western Australia.

His idea for tripe.Iscariot centres around the thesis that from 'berry to stalk' the whole of the plant should be used in the winemaking process.

No waste, no 'cleaning up' of the wines. Driving to make the most character filled and unique wines that any site can produce.

The wines are fascinating and complex alt-stylings of undervalued Margaret River varieties.

Dig in, this is a project to keep a close eye on.

The Wine Front

"A blend of chenin blanc, semillon, chardonnay and muscat. The idea here is to bring together some of the original varieties planted in Margaret River, a postmodern interpretation f the region through its historical past, and indeed the old timey winemaking where varieties were brought together for syncopation rather than mono-varietal fascination. Summer wine of highest order here. Should be gracing the bistros and wine bars from here to kingdom come.Tangy, fresh white of perkiness and ease of drinking. Smells like cucumber in tonic water, whiff of snow pea, touch of sea spray. The palate is more savoury, limey, touch more tonic water, licks of fennel and faint, salted cashew. Really delicious here, effortless stuff and so interesting." - Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)

Could be better

TripeIscariot Absolution Danse Macabre 2017. Good food-friendly texture. Considering this is a blend of Chenin Blanc, Semillon, Chardonnay and Muscat there should be a pronounced bouquet but it was mute. It's dull. If the winemaker wants to bore us let him use Trebbiano and at half the price. This product is uncompetitive and forgettable. Also the label is incoherent. What does "Absolution Danse Macabre" tell us?
