About The Wine

Most of the 'work' that happens in the Stefano Lubiana wines happens in the vineyard. Steve's was the first vineyard in Tasmania to be certified biodynamic. The quality of the wines exhibit this commitment to the quality of fruit.

This Primavera Chardonnay is great buying if you like the feel of Tassie Chardonnay but don't want to blow the whole budget.

It's Chardonnay with depth and richness but with a fine line of acidity strung throughout. This is pitched as an entry point into Steve's premium range of wines but offers much more than that title would suggest.

This is a great place to start if you want to become familiar with these excellent Tasmanian wines.

About Stefano Lubiana

Steve and Monique Lubiana were pioneers of biodynamic farming in Tasmania.

Their gorgeous estate was the first to adopt the principals of biodynamics in 2008. Since then the quality of the Stefano Lubiana premium range has soared. The wines are immaculate: Pinot noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Sparklings all packed with flavour intensity and perfectly balanced.

As Mike Bennie observed, "Geez, there’s been some wind in the sail on their estate in southern Tasmania. This is top notch stuff right here."

Steve, a fifth-generation winemaker, is now one of Tasmania's leading producers, no doubt about it.

DDS review

Whisper of sulphide and golden fruit. It's cuddly and toasty with a freshness derived from the bell-clear acidity. It shows barrel complexity and ripe yellow-fleshed stone fruit. Tassie Chardonnay 101. - Different Drop Wine Team

Additional Info

From The Producer

100% estate- grown, single-vineyard, certified biodynamic fruit from a mix of two terriors: grey gravelly loams over clay and red loam over gravel.

Fruit is hand-picked and sorted by hand on a vibrating table. Wild yeast fermented, then matured for 8-10 months in new & old French oak barrels with a small portion in stainless steel.

It's the lightest & freshest of the three Chardonnay styles Stefano Lubiana makes. It's one of the most refined Chardonnays you'll find in a “drink-now” style.
