About The Wine
Like it's legendary namesake, Romulus is all shoulders and strength. A brooding and powerful Shiraz, he is the personification of all things Barossa.
Sourced from two separate vineyards that are 80+ and 85+ years old in the Valley, this is a textbook example of why this is our most famous wine producing region. In opposition to the finer boned Remus who sees exclusively French oak, Romulus gets a healthy dose of brand new American oak and takes it in stride.
There is a big movement at the moment towards the cooler climate, more elegant side of Shiraz in this country, but with flavour-packed releases like this from the SOE boys, it’s easy to see why there will always be a place for good ol’ Barossa Shiraz.
About Sons of Eden
Sons of Eden is a partnership between experienced winemaker (Corey Ryan) and viticulturist (Simon Cowham) who both “learnt and refined their trades in the vineyards and cellars of Eden Valley”. The boys have successfully grown their brand with a suite of full-flavoured but well-proportioned Barossa and Eden Valley wines - predominantly reds - that have gained impressive critical acclaim.
The wines are built on classic Barossan varieties and blends, but with a modern elegance that makes the wines simultaneously approachable and cellar-worthy. With Cowham's vineyard resources and Ryan's winemaking prowess, Sons of Eden has become one of the best value producers in Australia.
